Accuracy is a quality that can be applied to many situations. It can refer to the strict correctness, strictness, sharpness, dexterity, skills, the quality of a measuring device that gives the most accurate value of the length measured, and accuracy may also refer to a detail that completes an information.

Accuracy is the basic feature of some objects. We can mention for instance a calculator, which is able to calculate complex calculations and give very accurate results, with many figures after the coma. We can of course think about firearms, and more particularly sniper rifles, that are able to place a bullet exactly to the point indicated by the sighting in a very far distance.

As far the video games are concerned, accuracy designates the dexterity, and the skill of the player. This quality is essential in games like Tetris or in shoot and FPS games.
As a matter of fact, in FPS players has to face and kill several enemies, as a result, it is essential to manage to reach the target before the enemy can do the same. This statement is even more important for the online FPS, in which the average level of players is very high. When two opponents are facing each other, the more accurate will eventually take the advantage. In this situation, we can show how important accuracy is with a simple example : if player 1 fires 5 times, misses 4 times and hits player 2 in the stomach once, and at the same time, player 2 fires only two times, but both shots hit player 1 in the head, the last man standing is definitely player 2.
