Air hockey : All The Best Free Flash Games Relating To Air Hockey

Air hockey is a game that is played in two around a special table, and which goal is to score seven point by sending the puck into the opponent's goal.

The first air hockey table was made by Bob Lemieux, an employee of the Brunswick Billiards company, billiards manufacturers in 1972. He based his work on the studies of three other engineers of the company who had launched the idea of game using a table without friction in the late 1960s, but the project did not meet success and was later taken over by Lemieux.

Air hockey has experienced a large immediate financial success, especially in the United States, associations have been created there to gather air hockey players. World Championships are held since 1978 and they have always been won by Americans, with the exception of two editions.
A air hockey table works through a system that sends air on the game area through small holes. The ouck used to play is thus less hampered by the friction of the table, the speed of the game is therefore increased. To throw the puck, players have two mallets (one each, called a goalie, striker or paddle), the table has little fences of each sides, to prevent the puck from falling.
Air Hockey pucks are slim discs made of Lexan polycarbonate resin. Standard USAA-approved pucks are the yellow lexan, red lexan and the Dynamo green. In competitive play, a layer of thin white tape is placed on the face-up side.
