An animal is a living being that doesn't belong to the human race not to any king of vegetable. Animals, depending on their differences and resemblances, are divided into species. Scientists are now able to describe about 1 750 000 animal species, and state that they probably haven't discovered a half, if not a tenth of the species living on Earth. Many species live in the ocean, which complicates the task. An unconsidered number of species have already disappeared, dinosaurs were the first of a long series of extinctions.

In nature, there are wild animals, but also those that were domesticated by man. Pets are used as companions for man who likes to take care of a sympathetic animal. Other animals are reared to provide us some food. Cattle and fishes are generally vowed to be eaten, whereas goats or dairy cows are used to bring us milk that will be transformed (or not) into cheese or dairy products. Hens produce eggs, sheep wool, and so on.

As for wild animals, they do their life trying to escape man because -do we really have to remind you- he is the greatest predator on Earth. Numerous species have passed away because of man who hunted them. Some people devote themselves to protect endangered species and try to make the poachers aware of the tragedy they are taking part in.
