Tom's Games >  Atv

ATV is the acronym for “All-Terrain Vehicle”. They look like huge 4 wheel-motorcycles, thus are somewhat more stable.

They were created in the 1950s and had 6 wheels. In 1970, Honda created a vehicle that looked like an ATV, but only had three wheels.

It was Suzuki who first launched in 1983 the four-wheeler as we now know it.
In some countries like France, for instance, people are allowed to use them on public ways. It is not the case in most US States, where legislation attempt to secure ATV practice has encountered several obstacles. Some of the most discussed issues concern kids use of ATVs. Some are way too big for them, and they cannot safely handle them.

There are only a few ATV video games, even if some car games offer the possibility to drive an ATV.
The main difference between ATV video games and kart racing games is that they often take place on asphalt. On the contrary, ATV games take place on sandy roads, often undulating, which make their pratice even more difficult.

There are many ATV competitions, and some reckless even try to finish the famous Dakar Rally, but few of them manage to do it because of the length and difficulty of the race.
