Baseball : All The Best Free Flash Games Relating To Baseball

Baseball is a collective outdoors game which is played through the alternation of two phases: an offensive phase and a defensive one. The offensive team uses its hitters (or batters) who have to hit the ball as far as possible for the opposing team for them to take the longest time to recover.

Once the ball is hit, the batter starts to run from base to base. There is a total of 3 bases in addition to the one from which the batter hits the ball. The batter may attempt to run on all bases and make a Home Run if the opposing team does not manage to return the ball to the sender beforehand. The batter can also stop on a base (to avoid being eliminated) if he feels that to ball is likely to be returned before he reaches to next base. Another batter will then hit the ball and the player who was waiting on one of the bases may eventually go forward or to the next base. Successfully complete a full turn will earn points to offensive team.

The defensive team is composed of 9 players including the pitcher, who have to make the hitter miss the ball. There is a defensive catcher behind the hitter. The 7 other defensive players have to return the ball hit by the batter to the catcher as quickly as possible. If the batter hits the ball and that it is directly caught by a defending player without a rebound on the ground, the attacking player running is eliminated.
The longest professional baseball game extended over 3 days (April 18-19 and June 23 1981), between the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Rochester Red Wings at McCoy Stadium.
