Bounty hunters are people who, in compensation for getting a fixed amount of money, are searching for one or more persons who are wanted for trespassing.

This is a real job, but only considered as such in two countries: the United States and the Philippines. Today, in the US, wanted people are especially those who do not pay taxes or other amounts of money due to the state. Bounty hunters are chasing them on behalf of a bail bondsman. But, given that in most countries, bounty hunters are not considered as law officers, they are often arrested for kidnapping people who fled from the US so as not to pay those taxes.

But the most famous bounty hunters were obviously those working during the Conquest of the West, when the US government could not ensure its citizens proper law and justice forces. Therefore, fugitives could easily flee from a town to get a better life and change their identity to live a normal life in smaller and more isolated towns.

One of the most famous bounty hunters in the world was Domino Harvey, for two reasons. One, she was a woman, two, she was the daughter of Laurence Harvey, a Lithuanian-born actor. Her live was subject to a movie, and Keira Knightley played the role of Domino. Even though she participated in the movie, as an adviser to the director, she never saw the final version of the movie, because aged 35 she died from an overdose.
