Bratz are small-size dolls, a bit like Barbie, very popular among little girls. They appeared in 2001 and became rapidly the must-have in schools playgrounds. It seems that MGA Entertainment, the toy company that gave birth to these adorable creatures, perceived quite well the new interests of pre-teen girls.

Indeed, Bratz are declined into a variety of models that are supposed to represent the diversity of taste, look and appearance of young girls, even though their big-sized heads and their skinny shapes may not be very realistic. Apart from the fact that Bratz are the reflection of a multi-ethnic society, each doll is given a specific identity and a style personified with little accessories ( bags, mobile phones...).

Whether you're a rock adept or that you flirt with the dark side of the force, preferring to adopt a goth attitude, whether you're a shopping addict or a tomboy, there is a Bratz for you.

However, the thick layer of make-up laid out on their disproportionate eylids and the style of their clothes (sometimes very short and tight) are the objects of many controversies, complainants arguing that these dolls have a negative impact on pre-teens.

Yet, Chloe, Sasha, Yasmin, Jade and their little sisters are going well, and their future seems to be bright. Indeed more than 125 millions of models were sold in their first years and their stories were even transposed in a movie and in a TV show. Not to mention that new accessories, board games, by-products ( key holders, posters, diaries, make up...) and even male Bratz have been recently made available.

Bratz are becoming serious rivals for Barbie. The two brands are almost having the same share of the doll-market pie.
