Tom's Games >  Car chase

A car chase is a chase between several vehicles. Car chases are often key elements of movies, and may also be broadcast on TV. Real car chases are sometimes filmed by helicopters and broadcast in live. Most of the time, this kind of car chase involves a single vehicle with a very dangerous behavior and way of driving, against several cop cars.

In cinema, car chases are a good way to get the movie more dynamic for reduced costs. Directors can use unusual cars or gather several car chases in a single car chase so as to make the scene more attractive. The first modern car chases dates from 1968, and was realized in the movie Bullit with Steve McQueen. It was the first time that the cameras filmed a scene from the cockpit of a car, which gave a better feeling of immersion and speed to the audience. Many car chases are still famous, and the series of James Bond's films are famous for their numerous car chases.

These past few years, several films contained major car chase scenes. For instance, in Matrix Reloaded, released in 2003, there was a very spectacular car chase scene lasting several minutes, and involving cars, motorbikes, and trucks. This scene involved the two heroes Morpheus and Trinity against two agents.
