The Cares bears are a set of stuffed animals that appeared in the United states during the 80's and which was launched in the market by the Kenner company. These characters are cute teddy bears, each one having his own name, his color, a symbol drawn on the stomach, and a specificity ( a little bit like The Smurfs). In this way, Cheer Bear is a pink bear with a rainbow on her stomach, she is very happy, and always wants to cheer up unhappy bears. Good luck bear is green, with a four leaf clover on his stomach, and spreads good luck for everyone.

Due to their colorful, cute, kind and joyful aspect, Care Bears have been a real hit for the children. Thus, more than 40 millions teddy bears were sold between 1983 and 1987. Three animated movies were released between 1985 and 1987, as well as a cartoon for TV.

These past few years Care Bears have become fashionable again for the pleasure of the children and the nostalgic adults. A new edition of toys have been designed, and two films were released on DVD in 2004 and 2005.
