Chess is a game played by two players, each one having eight pieces (one king ; one queen ; two rocks ; two bishops ; two knights) and eight pawns. These pieces are black and with and are displayed carefully, every piece having its own place on the chessboard. The chessboard is composed by 64 squares alternatively black and white. The objective is to kill the opponent's king, that is to say, put it under attack, and there is no way to remove it from attack on the next move.

The chess game seems to have been created between the Vth and the VIIth century in India. The game expanded in Persia around the year 600, and knew a great development after the invasion of Muslims in Persia. Chess expanded in Europe thanks to the Muslim Spain around the year 1000.

Nowadays, chess is one of the most complicated games, in which strategy and patience are key elements to master. A good chess player has to have a strong ability of analysis and reflection. If he doesn't set up long term plans for the future play, he will never be able to become a chess master.
Not anybody can become a very good chess player, nevertheless, a mere game between friends can be very nice. Chess is one the most interesting games manhood have been able to invent.
