In the past, interior design was for wealthy people only: think about the Chateau de Versailles, where every room is full of treasures. Of course, the “little people” had other priorities (they had to find enough food to survive and to feed their children).

Today, more and more TV shows take advantage of this phenomenon. Some of them only deal with interior design, others, like “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” not only take care of interior design but also of the outside facades, of the garden, they may add a swimming pool, a patio...

The objective is to select one family out of hundreds of requests. This family is selected according to the principle that they do not have enough money to make necessary and urgent changes, and to have work done in their house.
