Drop goal : All The Best Free Flash Games Relating To Drop Goal

In rugby, a drop goal refers to a technique which consists in dropping the ball from the hands and shooting it just after the bounce. In rugby, this technique can be done in various cases, notably to try to score points.

In this way, during a rugby game, if a player considers he is in a good position, and free of his opponent\'s marker he can try to drop a goal so as to score points. The player drops the ball and shoots it with the instep just after the bounce, and if he manages to throw the ball between the uprights and over the crossbars, he scores 3 points for his team. The points are given only if the ball had been kicked after the bounce. Some players such as Jonny Wilkinson, Stephen Jones or Ronan O\'Gara are particularly clever at this technique.

But the drop is not exclusively used in Rugby. As a matter of fact, in soccer, goal keepers can make a clearance with this technique, and some of them got specialized in drop, although most of the goal keepers would rather clear the ball in a more classical way, that is to say without waiting for the bounce. In football it is a very rare technique but Doug Flutie scored a point with this technique in 2006.
