Football Challenge is based on the same concept of the famous Ski Challenge : the game is 100% free and only makes profits thanks to the advertising. The more there are players, the more the development costs will be refunded.
Every single version of Football Challenge is downloaded several millions times, and gives the possibility to play in leagues, off-line against the computer, or on-line against friends.

On-line, several championships are organized like tournaments. During exhibition matches, no points can be won, and they can only be played on-line.
In tournaments, you will have to play against your opponents, and any victory will give you points, while any defeat with make you lose some. The goal is of course to try to get the best rank possible.
The exhibition matches happen during the week, and the tournaments are played during the weekend. Each tournament leads to a ranking, and you can improve the odds of your team by playing in preparation matches during the week, so as to be ready for the important matches of the weekend.

The first released version is Football Challenge 2008 (in April, 2008) two years and a half after the release of Ski Challenge. The games offers two championships, the spring championship, and the fall championship. The spring championship is played in four tournaments happening on Saturdays and Sundays, and the fall championship is played in five tournaments. A spring and a fall champion will be declared.
