The creation of the Internet gave a sense to computers for many of us. Before the Internet, computers were used to write a text on Word or play to Solitaire. Computers could host simple software with a restricted use. It was a kind of desk VCR with its three videotape cassettes offered at Christmas that were looked at on Sunday evenings to feel reassured of the purchase. But the Internet made computers so useful. The Internet turned the mere VCR in a cable television with more channels than days in a year.
