In data processing, a keyboard of computer is a peripheral making it possible a user to enter the computer of the text and the characters, like communicating instructions to him.

Physically, generally, the keyboards look like a surface on which a unit is laid out of buttons of form rectangular or quasi rectangular called keys and on which is printed or engraved in relief of the symbols (letters, figures, words, etc).

In music, and more precisely, in organology, the keyboard is a whole of keys which one inserts in general using the fingers (either of only one hand, or of the two hands) to play of certain instruments.
The keys can also be actuated with the feet (pedals of the organ) or with the fists (chime). The keyboard of the accordion differs from that of the other instruments, with round keys laid out in quincunx; it is said that it is about a keyboard with buttons.
