Lego is a corporation created in Denmark in 1932, which produces interlocking plastic bricks used by children to build various things.
Lego was a real hit all over the world and was among the most ordered toys during Christmas periods during years. But with the arrival, and the success of electronic toys, Lego has known huge financial difficulties, since children play less and less to Lego in so far as they are more and more interested in video games. That is why this corporation which used to make 1 billion of turnover each year, saw its results dangerously collapse in 2004, and lost 250 millions !

During the 60's, Lego, which was still a very profitable corporation thanks to record sales towards young boys, tried to penetrate the girls' game market by creating Lego that would compete Barbie.
Nevertheless, this transformation was not successful.

Every year, more than 1 billion bricks are created, while the corporation creates other products as well such as Duplo or Lego Technic targeting very young children, and teenagers.
Besides, some amusement parks about the topic of Lego, called Legoland were created in Europe and in the USA, even if they are not mainly owned by the Lego corporation anymore since its reorganization in 2000.
