Love is a feeling exclusively proper to humans. Unlike animals that will be only led by their natural instincts, men can test feelings in total opposition with their instinct. For love may be experienced with someone whom did not attract us at first sight, whereas instinct does not rely on any intellectual activity. That is why we talk of our animal instinct.

Love is one of this uncontrollable feelings that links the one who is in love with someone else. Unlike fear, love is more difficult to define for each person interpret this feeling differently, according to his culture, environment and education. Some would feel in love with someone who acts protectively and kindly, whereas others would feel in love only if someone made their head spin and make them feel out of reality, like in a conscious dream.

Love may be passionate, tender, intellectual, physical, spiritual, destructive and so on. From person to person, we do not react the same way to love, and one person may even react differently with his different lovers. One's love may be very controlled, scheduled, or on the contrary unlimited, passionate and even crazy!

Also, love is not expressed the same ways from culture to another. Taboos are very common in all societies and concern the language as well as the behavior. Homosexuality is even forbidden in some cultures and considered as a disease, though very common in Ancient Greece.

One of the main love proof is kiss. Some people broke the record of the longest kiss in Quebec, Canada: 3 couples kissed for 36 hours non stop! In Budapest (Hungary), 5875 people shared a kiss at the same time.
