A magical power is a mysterious supernatural force that one uses to influence events. The existence of such enchanting qualities is of course debated from the dawn of time, since no one can explain rationally how does a magical power work.
According to the occult sciences, the physical world can be modified just by the power of thought. It stresses also the fact that the human being's spirit is strong enough to influence the world through a focused and oriented thought.

The existence of magical powers as well as magic in general, has always been a controversial topic.
Some people believe that such forces exist whereas some others refute the idea that for instance it's possible to move an object from one place to another just through mental focusing and eyes frowning. Moreover, since scientists proved that a physical reality lies under most of the phenomena (like thunders), people tend to turn their back at magic.

Yet, in the past, many people believed that some human beings like sorcerers, wizards, healers and witches were endowed with magical powers. The popular belief was that these people could make use of superior forces and magical powers dormant in natural elements, numbers, signs, rituals, magical objects (a magic wand) to change a physical reality.

In literature, folklore and mythology, characters with magical powers have always been portrayed.
A wide range of magical powers “exists”, from the power of transcending the nature of an object (turning a stone into a gold nugget), of getting in contact with wandering souls (in the beyond) to the power of mind-controlling someone.

Nowadays, the most famous sorcerer in children's books is Harry Potter. He has several inborn magical powers. In “Harry Potter”, not everyone can have access to magical powers. Only those born from a sorcerers' union inherit from magical forces, expressed through the use of a magic wand and magic words.
