A monster is an individual or a creature whose appearance or behavior does not correspond with the rules and codes of society. Thus, it is quickly rejected by the world in which he lives.

Etymologically the construction of the word monster is unclear; it may come from the Latin verb ?monstro? which means ?to show? or from the Latin word ?monstrum? which means ?omen?.
