The PlayStation Portable or PSP marketed since 2004, is the first portable video game console by Sony.
Very modern, combining design, technology and performance, it marks a turning point in the history of consoles, because it offers image quality and overall capacity approaching that of the PlayStation 2.
It is therefore a multi-function console, which besides offering a multitude of video games, can also allow to listen to music, watch movies, photos or to surf on the Internet through the wireless connection. The PSP is therefore different from its competitors by its many assets and its various functions, including an expanded connectivity (USB output, wi-fi equipment, operates under an operating system).

The PSP is on a very competitive market, but not in direct competition with some consoles that can be found in digital video game. Still, its rival, the Nintendo DS, marks its originality with its ergonomics and its applications while the PlayStation Portable relies on its power and its multimedia features.
