Puzzle is a patience game in which small pieces of cardboard or wood must be assembled to achieve a specific design (a picture, a painting...). Some of these games have thousands of parts which obviously makes it more difficult to complete them. There are puzzle representing all sorts of things: girls, cars, landscapes, cartoons...Puzzle is therefore part of the game that require concentration as well as methodology to be achieved.

The first puzzles were made in the 18th century and have become a relatively successful among the public, so it is possible to find puzzles all over the world.

Traditional puzzles are usually in 2 dimensions (2D), but some 3 dimensions (3D) puzzles also exist. They often represent famous monuments, statues or any spherical structure such as a planet for example. 3D puzzles (also called brain-teaser) were allegedly invented in Montreal (Canada) in the 90's.

The world's largest puzzle consists of 24,000 pieces and measures no less than 14ft 0,5 in x 5ft 1,8 in! This is actually a commercial puzzle that you can buy, and it comes in many different designs.

Note that the world puzzle, in his broad meaning, can also mean enigma or problem that needs to have many elements taken into account before being able to solve it (Rubik's cube is a puzzle).
