Round is a word we mostly find in boxing sports and describes the fighting periods.

Round has nothing of a circle but the clock that limits its existence. Indeed, a boxing match is divided in 3 minutes rounds. A fight can contain up to 15 rounds. It materializes through the ring of the bell that announces its introduction and conclusion. Between the two of them there is scrap, apart from them there is attention !

Nevertheless, this word is not the exclusive property of the fight because, in a general manner, it describes a unit of play that occupies a specified time. Thus it is common to hear about rounds in the automobile or sailboat fields, but also about more bizarre competitions such as dodgeball or golf to refer to the different parts of a championship.
