Scooby Doo is a big dog, protagonist of the eponymous cartoon for children. This American TV show was created by the studios Hanna-Barbera and is composed by several seasons. The very first Scooby Doo episode was broadcast in the USA in 1969 on CBS.

The character of Scooby Doo was created by Iwao Takamoto. The episodes depict the story of this clumsy and fearful dog accompanied with his friends Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne. In every episode, this group of friends attempts to make an investigation about paranormal events, or monsters apparitions. Shaggy and Scooby Doo hang around with one another, and are permanently terrified by the paranormal events they assist to. This always involves disasters and hilarious gags.

Nevertheless, at the end of every single episode, we realize that everything was just a prank, performed by someone who is often hidden under his monster suit. The truth is discovered only after gathering the clues found out by Velma, Fred and Daphne. The criminal always get caught, thanks to a gag trigged of by Scooby Doo and Shaggy, and then he is unmasked by Velma who always has a rational explanation of the events.

This cartoon was even adapted to the Cinema, and a movie was released in 2002 including Sarah Michelle Gellar in the cast.. The movie was a hit and a sequel was released two years later.
