you've probably heard about it, or seen it, because for months, this green monster with a beatific grin on his face was everywhere, first on movie posters, then on all kinds of by-products design.
In 2001 the movie studio Dreamworks releases on theaters its new computer-animated movie: Shrek. Right away, the movie met a huge success among children and grown-ups too. Shrek's storyline is quite original and is based on a William Steig's fairy tale, even though the movie didn't stick to every words of Steig's book.
The hero in the story is far from being a charming prince: it is a green cranky and gross ogre, who burps, farts and so on. In other words, he enjoys life at its utmost.
He lives quietly in a swamp with his friend, a kind-hearted -though a bit too chatty- donkey, when one day, some fairy creatures move next door by order of a lord.
Shrek, unhappy to find his life disrupted in this way, decides to find the Lord and to put an end to this fairy intrusion.
