Squirrels are little rodents belonging to the family Sciurudae. Numerous varieties of squirrels exist, such as typical European red squirrels or surprising flying squirrels, able to fly a few moment from a branch to another thanks to a membrane of skin. They are omnivore animals because they can eat nuts, fruits, mushrooms, seeds, or even insects.
Squirrels embody a certain symbol in the Scandinavian mythology.
