A star is a massive celestial body made of gas of which many spatial bodies gravitate around (planets, asteroids...). The nearest star to Earth is the Sun, that is incidentally the center of the milky way. The Sun is 95 000 miles away from the Earth but its light only takes 8 minutes to reach it. The Sun is made of hydrogen and helium (as most of the stars).

From the study of the skies by numerous scientist of the antiquity, to the current Martian missions, stars have always fascinated men. As a result there is nothing surprising to see how well this term can be connected to great sagas synonyms of adventure and change of scene such as Star Wars or Star Trek.

From the arrival of modern arts during the 20th century a star designates a celebrity, someone who is known worldwide thanks to his job or for any other reason, and that can be considered as an example. The term star has become a very common Anglicism, it is massively used in European countries to designate famous people.
