Tekken is a series of 3D fighting video games developed and published by Namco.

Tekken appeared in 1994 and was first developed on arcade cabinet, and then was adapted on home video game console (Playstation). The specificity of these games is the story that connects every single episode of the series. So, along the different games, some characters are recurrent, and other new characters appear to flesh out the gallery of characters. Each fighter have specific moves, and a fighting style peculiar to himself, even though there may be some similitudes between some characters.

On Playstation, each button of the controller is attributed to a member of the character (right an left fists and legs) which gives a touch of realism to the possible combos. In 2000, Tekken Tag Tournament was released as a game that did not really belong to the series. The game gathered the main characters of the previous versions and prioritized the cooperation aspect (possibility to switch the characters during a fight, like Dead or Alive).

The styles of fighting are varied and the characters are not all controlled the same way. Martial arts as street fights are represented. The charisma of the characters, the graphics evolution, and the complexity of the handling make the series of Tekken successful from years to years.
