A tower is a tall, narrow and elongated structure that usually rises to a great height. Towers are either free-standing or forming part of a building such as a castle. In the building process of these structures, height is not an element left to chance. Towers are meant to almost “reach” the sky because they take advantage from their height.

In the Middle Ages, Towers were part of a castle and used as a tool in a warfare strategy. From the top of a watchtower, heirs would see the enemies coming from miles away, and could get prepared to defense or to attack. The book of genesis recounts that these people wanted to erect a tower so that they would reach the heavens. God, unhappy to see men glorifying themselves instead of praising him, split humanity into several language-related groups and scattered men throughout the world.
