Toy Story is the very first computer-animated movie created by the Pixar Studios. It is directed by John Lasseter and co-produced by the Disney Studios. The movie was released on screen in the United States in 1995.
There have been some sequels to Toy Story: Toy Story II (1999), Toy Story III (coming up on June 18th 2010) as well as a "spin-off" direct-to-video animated film: Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000).
Toy Story is about a kid called Andy who possesses toys that come to life and talk once they are left alone in a room. Every year, on Andy's birthday, these toys fear being replaced. Except for Woody -the cowboy- that remains Andy's favorite. Nevertheless, the day Andy receives Buzz Lightyear - a kind of ranger astronaut- Woody gets much more suspicious and jealous.
In Toy Story II Woody is kidnapped by a collector who's a fan of the series "Woody's Roundup" - of which Woody is the hero. When he becomes aware of that, the cowboy becomes full of himself and rejects his friends, Buzz included.
