Tribes are often defined as being a grouping of people, before the development of the State. It is a society in which everyone has a precise role and serves the community in one way or another.

Anthropologists contradict each other concerning the origins of tribes: some think the tribe is somehow the intermediary step between the clan and the State, others consider that tribes are the result of the development of the State, and that they appeared after the notion of State.

There are various types of tribes: some are tribes where social “classes” are only vaguely defined because all have the same activity (hunting, picking), others are led by a chief, and others where a concept of greatness of individuals and social class appeared.
