Tom's Games > Vampire
A vampire is a legendary creature, not living nor dead (but not a ghost), that, according to the many legends and superstitions, extracts from its grave at the fall of night.
Vampires feed themselves with fresh blood and must consequently kill to survive.
They are cursed to live for ever, and cannot be killed except if a wooden stake is impaled deep into their heart.
the feeding process is quite repelling: when starving, or when their appetite is brought out by the smell of fresh blood, their incisors begin to grow longer and sharper.
They dash for the neck of their victim to bite them very deep in their carotid.
Then, they (gently or not, it depends...) suck their blood to death.
They can transmit their immortality to whoever they want: the chosen people for immortality are first sucked from their blood but have to drink as well a drop the vampire's own blood.
The flipside of the coin is that once you've been made this forever creature, you become a vampire as well.
Being a vampire is not easy indeed.
Bram Stocker wrote in 1897 “Dracula”, which became the name of the most famous vampire ever, and tended to depict it as a misfit of society, a stranger that is feared and marginalized.
Vampires were already quite popular in the 18th century stories from the Balkans, so it's not surprising that Dracula comes from a gloomy castle in the Transylvania forest.
Many movies have been centered on vampires and on Dracula, and they were not only focusing on one genre.
Horror movies, comedies, science fiction movies...
more than 200 vampire movies were released on the screen, and many more were certainly home-made.
