They can choose to practice medicine for laboratory animals, for cattle animals (cows, pigs..) or even for reptiles, and the purposes are completely different.
These medicines however put into practice the same principles that the medicine for men: diagnosis and therapeutic treatments, surgical operations, follow-up cares...

But providing medical cares for animals is also linked to the human health itself.
Indeed, to curb an epidemic or a pandemic that can affect men (the rage, the bird flu...), vets' research work is essential.
