Winter is one of the four season for the temperate countries. It is the coldest season of the year, the time when trees are out of leaves, certain animals are hibernating and some places are all covered by snow.

So at this season, nature is having a break, before getting renewed at spring! Days are also getting shorter, for the sunrises later and sets earlier than the rest of the year.

Winter, however, is a very festive period, during which we celebrate some special events. Christmas is always very expected by children, who write to Santa Clause as to tell him what they wish to discover under the Christmas tree on D-Day.

On the last stroke of midnight, we celebrate the new year's coming. We wish everybody a happy new year and a good health, as for this year to bring us luckand all we need. Some like to take good resolutions, like being nicer to his siblings, stop smoking... they are some for any age! Most of the time, these good resolutions won't last long, but it is still nice to think that we are starting a new year, without knowing what it is going to bring!

During winter, we also like to sit by the fire, with a bowl of hot chocolate in our hands, listening to our grandparents' stories. We enjoy staying comfortable in our warm bed, looking at the snow falling silently outside. Indeed, for winter is also the time to go on a winter sports vacation, we rush to the mountains to enjoy some fresh air and have fun on the ski tracks!
