Though Codemasters officially owns the "Operation Flashpoint" brand, "Armed
Assault" is a follow-up to that game in all but name. Bohemia had been
struggling to find a publisher until recently, but it would seem that 505 will
be publishing the game in Europe, excluding Eastern Europe and Germany for some
reason. No word yet on a US publication date, but with a European release
secured, a US release becomes an inevitability sooner or later.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and do backflips around the town.
"Operation Flashpoint", though buggy on release, is the best soldier sim out
there, and one of the most gripping games I've ever played. "Armed Assault" will
hopefully live up to the high standards set by its predecessor.

You're not the only one who'll be doing backflips! I agree, Operation Flashpoint
was the best by a long stretch, let's hope that AA will raise the bar yet again.
And this time I'm actually planning on buying it (yes I know shame on me, but
I've repented!).

I couldn't agree more! I've been keeping tabs on Bohemia's website for far too
long. Flashpoint is def' one of the highlights of my gaming experiences. How
many of you found yourselves cra***g yourselves lying prone in a thicket with
nowhere to run and an angry bmp or T80 looming over you?!I lost my disks years
ago but my flashpoint bud bought a copy a few months back on budget label and we
got all nostalgic... And it plays and looks fantastic on a modern PC with the
detail & res ramped up!Never got past the final mish though with 'Guba in the
back seat of the jeep... there was a bug where the nuc' lancher kept
vanishing!Oh well..."2... move to... tree... six o'clock..."P.s.if anyone out
there has a saved game of that last mish I'd love to settle some unfinished
business ;)
