Gigabyte showed off an RD790 motherboard as well. The GA-M790-DQ6 offers as many as four PCI Express x16 slots, each of them running in x8 mode. Since the interface is PCI Express compliant, its bandwidth can be twice as high as with conventional PCI Express 1.0 solutions. This means that PCI Express 2.0 x8 is as fast as PCI Express 1.0 x16.
